See, i told you, i learn something new every time I read your blog :) Now- can you tell me how you get your kids to eat Hot and Sour soup? or black bean soup? :)judiballantynebits.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7247988727930686173.post-25537977688473323042008-10-23T06:53:00.000-07:002008-10-23T06:53:00.000-07:00(GASP)You.toss.what's.in.the.cavity? Ak, lol. I boil my chicken super low and slow just like you do and put in veggies and fresh herbs from the garden. My meat never comes out dry or tough, not that yours does either, I just don't understand how you could say there's no use for it. I use it for chicken pot pie, enchiladas, all sort of stuff and if I don't plan to use the broth in a couple days, I can it.

Please don't think I'm offended, more joking about this comment than anything else but I do use the meat from a boiled chicken all the time. In fact, where it looks like the broth is the main product from your chicken, it's usually my secondary. I stocked up on Pacific brand free range broths just 2 days ago for the days when I don't have time to make my own. They were on sale...$1.73 a container. They're usually $2.64!Amandahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06428053893024159845noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7247988727930686173.post-24348430577909475092008-10-23T07:58:00.000-07:002008-10-23T07:58:00.000-07:00Ha! Amanda, you are a far better pioneer than I! ...Ha! Amanda, you are a far better pioneer than I! I used to use the boiled meat but I don't anymore--the stuff that's left in the pot is way too tasteless for me after so many hours. That's why I cut off what I need ahead of time and set it aside. And actually, most of the time I make my stock out of our roast chicken leftovers--in which case we've already used most of the meat for one or two other meals. But once in a while I have a week like this one, where I make it just for the pure-stock-pleasure of it all.

Keep up on the goodness on your blog, I'm not going anywhere :)five little acornshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08067196813826975298noreply@blogger.com
